How to Add & Upload Contacts to Your Castiron Shop

With Castiron, you can consolidate your customer data into one location. Say goodbye to manual spreadsheets, handwritten notes and contact info, and searching through your text messages! Say hello to your new dynamic customer database. 

Any time a customer makes a purchase through your Castiron store, we'll capture their contact information, including their name, email, address, phone number and marketing opt-in. 

You may have already collected a list of customer contacts, and now you want to import them to Castiron. You can upload the information of up to 500 customers at once using our Bulk Upload feature (particularly helpful if you are coming from another platform and already have an email list).

Follow these steps to add new or existing customer details:

1.  To add a list of customers to your Castiron shop, navigate to “Contacts” on your left-hand side, or click this link to visit the page. Then select "Add Contacts" in the upper right-hand side. 

1. Click on the add in bulk or Add an individual tab
2. If you are coming from another platform, read Export Customer Data from Square and Shopify to learn more about exporting your existing customer list.
3. Add contacts by copying and pasting a list of customer emails you’d like to add into Castiron. Be sure that you separate your emails with either a comma or a line break (hit return after each).

Before clicking “Add Contacts,” choose whether to designate your contacts as subscribers to your shop. If the contacts have already given you permission to contact them with marketing offers, click the checkbox.

If they have not given you permission to market to them, keep the box unchecked and you will be given an opportunity to send a one time email inviting them to subscribe to your shop marketing. This is your only opportunity to send an automated invite email to ask them to subscribe to your newsletter.

Click the “Send Invites” button and Castiron will send your contacts an invitation to subscribe to your shop. 

In the Contacts tab, your customer will show a status of Pending after your invite is sent.

They will receive an email invitation to subscribe that looks like this: 

By clicking the Confirm subscribe button, your customer will move to Subscriber status on your contact list. 

Your contacts will receive an email if they click the Confirm Subscribe button, then they’ll be taken to a confirmation page, be given your shop’s New Subscriber Coupon (if it’s active in your shop), and will be invited to continue on to shop from your Castiron store.
