Managing Coupon Codes

Castiron takes advantage of the fact that coupons work to increase sales (see article Taking Advantage of Coupon Codes). But as a business owner you may have your own strategy for when and how to use coupons. 

Automated Coupons at the Start

Welcome Coupon

When you first build you Castiron shop, it is automated to have a pop up with a 10% off coupon for new subscribers to your shop. This encourages them to make their first purchase.

However, if you want to turn off or remove the 10% coupon:

• From the Settings tab in your admin, click on the Coupons page.
• The code WELCOME is the 10% of first order. Click on the three dots on the right of that row where you can edit the amount, expire the coupon, or delete the coupon. 
• To remove it completely, select delete. 
• 

Subscription Pop Up

New visitors to your shop's page will see a pop up encouraging them to sign up for your shop updates for 10% off their first purchase. This will only be given once per customer. 

If you have deleted the welcome coupon, rather than a pop up encouraging people to sign up for a 10% coupon, it will simply encourage customers to sign up for shop updates and no coupon with be provided. (Please note, this only pops up once per shop visit, so if your customer X's out of the pop up, it will not reappear). 

However, you have the option to turn off the subscription pop up (with or without the 10%).

• From your shop admin screen, click on the Popups tab. 

• From the Subscribe Popup box, click the three dots on the top right
• Click on Turn Off

Your shop visitors will still have the option to sign up for shop updates at the very bottom of your shop's page even if there is no Popup.

 

Thank You Coupon

After a customer has placed their first order, they will receive a confirmation email. One week after their first order, they will receive a Thank You email with a coupon offer. This is automatically set to 5% off the next order. However, like the other automations, you can adjust or turn off this offer.

To Turn Off the Thank You coupon:

• From the admin screen, click on the Automations tab.
• Find the Thank You Offer box. 
• Click on the three dots at the top right of the box and click Manage Automation.
• From there click Turn Off at the bottom left of the box
